Working With Your Local CVB

Co-Sponsorsed by Virginia Association of Museums and Virginia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus

Having a good working relationship with your local CVB (convention and visitors bureau) is essential for any size museum, especially during large celebration years such as the ongoing Civil War Sesquicentennial.  This workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of tourism promotion from both sides of the fenceundefinedmuseums and CVBs.  It will help both groups better understand each other and work together on tourism promotion that will benefit museums and their communities.

Speakers:

Jeremy Harvey, Visit Loudoun and Tracy Gillespie, Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority.
Sergei Troubetzkoy, Bedford County Tourism and April Cheek-Messier, National D-Day Memorial.
Patrick Lennon, Fairfax County CVB

Cost:

$50 for VAM or VACVB members; $75 for nonmembers; Optional box lunch $15.  Call or email Jennifer Thomas to register: jthomas@vamuseums.org, 804-788-5823
